Hong Kong is divided into four major geographic areas: Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Lantau Island, and the New Territories. In our first two days in Hong Kong, we focused on exploring Hong Kong Island, which is the government and business center of the city and also where most tourists focus on.
Our favorite way to travel in the city was on double decker trams that went through the major parts of Hong Kong Island. Riding on the upper deck of the tram is a wonderful way to see the city.
The Peak Tower at Victoria Peak. Victoria Peak is Hong Kong's most popular tourist attraction and offers great views of the city and harbour. We got a view of the city from the free observation deck in the shopping mall next to the Peak Tower instead of paying to go up to the Peak Tower.

On our second day, we spent a few hours in Aberdeen, where there were hundreds of fishing boats sitting in the harbour.
Blake Pier at Stanley. Stanley is a town on Hong Kong Island that reminded us of New England with many western restaurants and english speaking people around. It did not feel like we were in Asia when we were in Stanley.
On the way back to our hotel, we encountered a group of people practicing Tai Chi at the waterfront.
