Kuala Lumpur seems like a nice city to live in with plenty of restaurant, shopping, and night life options but does not have a lot of tourist attractions to see. If you like shopping, KL is the place to go with 66 shopping malls offering all the name brands. We are not much that into shopping however, so we stayed in KL for only two nights. On our second day in KL, we went the Old City Centre, where we spent the day exploring Merdeka Square, shopping, and visiting a Hindu temple.
Happy Holidays from Kuala Lumpur
Since it is now Christmas in Asia, I wanted to post a blog entry to wish everyone Happy Holidays! We are currently in Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia to celebrate Christmas. We miss spending time with our family and friends over the holidays, but we are fortunate to have Aunt Van, Cousin Jonathan, and Cousin Zack join us in KL to celebrate Christmas and travel with us for the next few weeks. We arrived on KL on Christmas Eve and spent the afternoon walking around the city. Even though KL’s population is 46% Muslim, 36% Buddhist, and only 6% Christian, we had no problem finding signs of Christmas everywhere. Many of the buildings, stores, and restaurants, were decked out with Christmas trees, lights, poinsettias, and other Christmas decorations. We made it to the famous Petronas Twin Towers in the afternoon and I managed to take a few photos of towers as well as some of the activity in the streets surrounding the buildings.
On another note, Yen and I also went to Northern Vietnam and Cambodia in December, but I have not had a chance to post entries on those location yet. I will post blog entries on those locations soon.
