On our last full day in Tokyo, we headed to the Tsukiji fish
market in the morning to eat sushi.
Neither of us had ever had raw fish before, so we were a little
apprehensive. I surprisingly enjoyed it,
while Yen…not so much.
Later on we went to the Ginza district and made dinner
reservations at a Kobe beef restaurant.
While waiting for dinner time to arrive, we walked to the Imperial Palace, which was nearby. Although we
did not have the time to explore the palace grounds fully, we enjoyed the
scenery and I got a chance to take a few photos.
While walking back to the Kobe beef restaurant, we came
across a Freshness Burger restaurant, a burger chain that we tried a few nights
before that had the most amazing burgers we have had in quite a while. Yen got really excited so we had a decision
to make: try Kobe beef for the first time for $80 per person or eat burgers for
$8 per person. In the end, Freshness
Burger prevailed with a coin flip and I ended up eating two burgers. I am somewhat disappointed that we did not
eat Kobe beef, but at least this gives us an excuse to go back to Japan.
